Louisiana Automobile Dealers Association's
2008 Dealer of the Year
TIME Magazine's 2009 Dealer of the Year
George began his automotive career in 1970, at age 14, stocking parts at Red River Motor Company. Since then, he has worked in the service, sales, and finance departments and graduated from LSU and the Chevrolet School of Merchandising and Management. George has been General Manager since 1986 and currently owns 75% of the dealership. His great-grandfather originally acquired the dealership in 1929, selling both Fords and Chevys until his grandfather took over in 1931 and founded Red River. They are still in the original building from 1929, but have grown a good bit.
George has served on the boards of numerous civic organizations including the Boy Scout Council President and National Board, 2004-2007 President of Christus Scumpert Foundation, Northeast Louisiana American Red Cross, United Way Campaign Co-Chair, Past Director of Volunteers of America, and Eagle Chairman of Shreveport-Bossier Military Affairs. George is currently President of the Committee of 100, President of the Good Neighbor Dealers, and Director of the Strategic Action Council of Northwest LA. He has also received numerous achievements including Chevrolet Genuine Leader for the past six years, Top 3 Chevrolet dealers in Louisiana for the last 5 years (based on sales), On-Star Excellence Award, Chevy National Business Conference Speaker, Bossier Chamber of Commerce's Small Businessman of the Year in 1995, and Ducks Unlimited Helping Hand & Silver Teal Awards.
Married to Minou, George has two children, Minou and Patton, and two grandchildren. Patton, newly married to Michel Scott Fritze, is the Parts Development Manager and Minou's husband, Alvin Olsan, is the New Car Sales Manager for Red River Motor Company.
