1998 Dealer of the Year
J. Alvin Gray has been in the automobile business for over thirty-two years. After returning from service with the U.S. armed forces in 1965, Alvin and his father established Gray Sales & Service, Inc. They began their business by selling chain saws, appliances and motorcycles. That same year, they received their Nissan franchise. In 1980, they became an exclusive Nissan dealership, and were the first Nissan dealership to be awarded for twenty years of service in the Dallas region.
In 1991, Alvin expanded his dealership by acquiring a Ford and Mercury franchise. Alvin has received automotive awards from the Nissan President's Club, President's Circle, an award for Outstanding CSI ratings and others.
Alvin is active in his community where he is a member of the Chamber of Commerce and the Military Affairs Committee, and has been active in the promotion of driver's education. Gray was rewarded most by his volunteer position as Sunday school superintendent where in his seven years of service, they acquired a new facility, plenty of staff and had attendance increase of 320 percent.
