Louis joined Louisiana Motors in 1954. Working his way up from sales manager to general manager, he purchased Louisiana Motors in 1985. In addition to the Pontiac and Suzuki franchises, he opened a Saturn Dealership in 1991.

Louis has been a member of the Pontiac Master Sales Guild, has served on the Memphis Zone Dealer Council, the national Pontiac Marketing Advisory Board and as chairman of the Houston Zone Dealer Council. In 1989, he was appointed to the General Motors President's Advisory Council.

Louis is a founding member of the Lafayette Economic Development Authority and served on the board for 20 years. He was president of LADA for four terms serving longer than any other president. He has served two terms on the Louisiana Board of Commerce and Industry under two different governors. He was elected Vice Chairman of the Board and twice represented the state of Louisiana in France.
